Seaton, Mary Kathleen
Mary Kathleen Seaton, 77, of Washington, died at 4:55 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Halcyon House in Washington. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 5, at Washington Mennonite Church, with Pastor Grant Nebel and Pastor Diane Z. Brenneman officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
Kathleen is survived by her sister, Karen Seaton, Washington; her aunt, Bernadine Ehman of Rock Island, Ill.; and her aunt, Geraldine Hixson of Ottumwa.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Sigourney to Roy S. and Velda M. Hixson Seaton. Kathleen grew up on a farm east of Richland and attended Little Brick No. 1 country school for five years and graduated from Richland High School in 1950. She attended Iowa Success Business School in Ottumwa before going to work for the Edmund D. Morrison Jr. Law Office in Washington, where she worked until 1997. She then retired but continued to help with income tax preparation. She was a member of the Washington Mennonite Church.
Memorials to Hospice of Washington County may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 102 East 13th St., Washington, IA 52353.
