Gould, Ida
Ida Gould, 87, of Marion, died at Willow Gardens Care Center, Saturday, March 26, 2011. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Northbrook Baptist Church by the Rev. Eric Schumacher. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Survivors include children, Darrell (Diane) Washburn of Riverside, and Randall (Machelle) Washburn of Challis, Idaho, Donella “Doni” Gould of Des Moines, and Wendell (Cindy) Gould of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Washburn; husband, Charles Gould; and two sisters.
Ida was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Bakersfield, Calif., to George and Katherine Funk. She married Jack Washburn in 1946. He died in 1961. She married Charles “Chuck” Gould on Feb. 5, 1966, and shared 40 happy years together.
Ida was a member of Creative Artists in Marion and exhibited her work in many art shows. She played the piano by ear and had numerous other artistic talents.
She was everybody's friend and never met a stranger. She touched many lives.
Ida was a devoted member of the Northbrook Baptist Church. She loved her little buddy, Howdy Doody.
