Wright, Dorothy Jean
Dorothy Jean Wright, 70, a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. Graveside Service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at St. John's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish.
Survivors include her siblings, Terry (Shelia) Varner, Barbara Karr, Ronald Varner and Robert Varner, all of Cedar Rapids; her adopted-out siblings, Douglas Varner of Texas, Richard Varner of Tennessee, and Nancy Bockman of Milford; her adopted grandchildren, BJ and Marc LaGrange; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Debbie Ogden, John, Jeff and Tim LaGrange and Terri Wullner.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wright; parents, George and Margaret (Gorman) Varner; brother, David Varner; and sister, Delores LaGrange.
She was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa. Dorothy worked for the Roosevelt Hotel. She was a loving soul and cared for many, especially her animals.
She will be greatly missed.
