Donald L. "Bud" Wright, 82, of Stockport, died at 5:43 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
He was born June 21, 1931, near Stockport, to Eldon and Blanch Hum-mell Wright. In childhood and youth he lived in Springville and Viola and graduated from Viola High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War and was a farmer and welder. He had farmed near Stockport from 1960 until retiring to town in 1996. Foreign languages were his hobby.
Surviving are a sister, Darlene Casagranda of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and two half sisters, Judy Windstead of Springville and Doris Meyer of Marion.
A half sister, Betty Pringle, preceded him in death in childhood.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, at Pedrick Fu-neral Home, Keosauqua, with Larry Smith officiating. Family will be present from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday before the service. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery, rural Stockport.
Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 204, Springville, IA 52336.
