Government needs to stop stalemate

Dictionary.com defines the adjective 'inept” as 'without skill or aptitude for a particular task or assignment; haplessly incompetent; inappropriate; unsuitable; out of place.”

Take your pick to describe our current Congress. Any concerned citizen should be contacting their senators, representatives and the President to stop the grandstanding and reopen the government. There is no excuse for holding our nation hostage because of policy disagreements. This is not a precedent we want to be established. Our national security and economy are being put at risk with each passing day of the shutdown as well as the individual economic security of our federal employees.

Mr. President, senators, and representatives ... agree to stop the shutdown now without anything else on the table and then debate the policy issues. This way, nobody wins except American citizens. That is who you are serving.
