David Osterkamp, 63, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at his home in Kenova, W.Va., following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Wilcox Cemetery with military honors.

Survivors include his son, David of Ironton, Ohio; two granddaughters, Serenity and Avalon; and his sister, Sharon Lenneman of Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Daniel and James; and a sister, Illa Slott.
David Wilford Osterkamp was born April 4, 1953. He was the son of Wilford and Florence Raymo Osterkamp. He received his education in the Anamosa Community Schools. David enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He returned from service and eventually settled in the Kenova area. David was employed by the Asplund Company, working mainly on the East Coast keeping railroad right of ways cleared. His health caused him to retire in 2011. David was a member of the American Legion Post 93 in Kenova.
