Betty (Harnish) Watson, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to heaven on Friday, July 27, 2018, to rock her baby, Reenie.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug 6, 2018, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Betty was born April 20, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Viola (Shelton) Harnish. On Dec. 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clare E. Watson. He later passed in 1981. Betty was a homemaker and had the joy of caring for many children in her home over the years. She was a member of the Salvation Army. Betty enjoyed playing cards, especially "Hand and Foot Canasta." She was a great cook who will be remembered for her delicious recipes, including her homemade noodles. She will be missed by those who loved her.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Pam Steinke; grandchildren, Jessica (Tom) Wilcox, Brock (Lisa) Steinke, Aaron Steinke, Jonathan (Molly) Chambers, Jeremy (Melissa) Chambers and Joshua Chambers; great-grandchildren, Quinn and Izzie Wilcox, Lexi and Charlee Steinke, Jack and Zoey Miles, and Callahan and Elodee Chambers; brother, Rev. William Harnish; sister, Shirley Elam; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clare; daughter, Pat Chambers; infant daughter, Reenie; and sister, Dolly Watson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to benefit Discovery Living.
