Sharpe, James Alan

James Alan Sharpe, 44, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home on Monday. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.

Survivors include his parents, Gary Sharpe and Bonnie Yeomans; sister, Jennifer (Ken) Heinzerling; brothers, Cody, Lucas and Jacob Sharpe; grandmother, Gwen Sharpe; and aunts and uncles, Chuck and Amy Wilcox and Tim and Suzanne Wilcox.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Pat Wilcox.

Jim was born Oct. 26, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Grace Baptist School. Jim worked as a forklift driver for Adidas. He enjoyed listening to his vinyl record albums, writing, and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jim's memory.
