Wallace, Judith Clare
Judith Clare Wallace, 72, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness. A public committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at St. John Cemetery near Newhall, with the Rev. David Lingard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne.
Judith was born June 6, 1938, at Oak Park, Ill., to Alfred Franklin and Dorothy Alflo (Fleming) Ebsen, and graduated from the Marion High School. Following training as a physician's assistant, she served her nation in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958 as a radioactive isotope tech at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego, Calif.
Before moving to Van Horne she was the general manager of several companies and for over 20 years Judith served as librarian at the Van Horne Public Library, where she enjoyed involvement with the library board and “Friends of the Library.” As a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne, she enjoyed membership in the Missionary League and taught Sunday school for many years. Judy's many talents were spread throughout the church. Her greatest passion was reading.
She is survived by her son, Marc Dalano Wallace of Holiday Lake near Brooklyn, Iowa; and her brother, Alfred (Jude) Ebsen of Fort Myers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Shirley, Sheryl and Susan; and her sisters, Joana and Janice.
Phillips Funeral Home, Keystone, is in charge of arrangements.
