USHL awards new franchise to Madison, Wisconsin

CHICAGO - The United States Hockey League announced Monday that an expansion franchise has been approved for Madison, Wis., that will begin competing in the 2014-15 season.
The city has had a USHL club in the past, the last time being 1995 (Madison Capitols). The new franchise will play at Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center, subject to final lease approval by the Dane County Board of Supervisors.
