RoughRiders lose at Indiana, 4-2

Jan. 3, 2014 7:53 pm
INDIANAPOLIS - Scott Conway and Michael Preston scored goals in the second period, and that was too much for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders to overcome in a 4-2 loss Friday night to the Indiana Ice.
Cedar Rapids (14-12-1, 29 points) closed within a goal twice in the third period: first on Alec Marsh's power-play goal less than a minute in, and again on Judd Peterson's unassisted goal with 4:47 left. But Alex Talcott scored into an empty net with eight seconds to go to end all hope.
Danny Tirone took the loss in goal. The RoughRiders outshot Indiana by a 25-24 margin.
The teams meet again Saturday night.
