Police say they are trying to determine a motive in the stabbing of a student allegedly by another student at a bus stop at Mason City High School.
Fifteen-year-old Devin Flores is accused of stabbing 15-year-old Scott Stricker on Monday.
Police Capt. Mike McKelvey says it happened after school. Stricker suffered a minor stab wound and was treated and released.
Flores is charged with aggravated assault.
McKelvey on Thursday wouldn't release details on the knife. He says investigators are trying to sort out what happened.
An online search of Iowa court records found no information on Flores, and it wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney. The Mason City Globe Gazette reported Flores was released to a relative Monday night.
School administrator T.J. Jumper declined to release information about the incident or the students.
