Evelyn Formanek Hinkel, 97, formerly of Belle Plaine, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion.
There will be a private family funeral service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Evelyn was born Feb. 3, 1919, to Albert and Clara (Houck) Rayner in Belle Plaine. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1936. In 1939, Evelyn married Charles Formanek Jr. They were blessed with two daughters. The couple later went their separate ways. In 1987, Evelyn left Belle Plaine to live in the Cedar Rapids and Marion area. She married Gene Hinkel on Dec. 27, 1988.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Janet (Formanek) Doud of Gainesville, Fla.; grandchildren, Jennifer Novak of Houston, Texas, and Justin Doud of Van Meter; and great-grandchildren, Elisabeth and Rachel Novak and Dynas and Drake Doud.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne Formanek; husbands; parents; and sisters, Maxine Duncalf of Milan, Ill., and Jean Keller of Cedar Rapids.
