Upah, Myrtis Ann
Myrtis Ann Upah, 82, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Chelsea, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, in her home from cancer. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea by Deacon Joe Behounek. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, where there will be a rosary at 6:45 p.m.
She is survived by daughters, Connie (Dan) Lekin of Tama, Cynthia (John) Sullivan of Cedar Rapids, Deborah (Victor) Perez of Denver, Colo., Joan (Bill) Kettelkamp of Marion, Andrea (Larry) Shaevitz of Swisher, and Laurie (Bob) Prunty of Chicago; sons, Joe (Shirley) Upah of Tulsa, Okla., and Doug (Sonya) Upah of East Amana; also 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She was an avid quilter and accomplished needlework artist.
