Ronald Brewer, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died at his home on Monday, July 17, 2017, following a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hills Community Church by Pastor Alan Crandall. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday
at Teahen Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Ron is survived by his wife, Colene; daughters, Christine (Randy) Kray of Lisbon and Deb (Roman) Routhe of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Michal (Samantha) Kray, Marshall Kray, McKenzie Routhe and Katie Routhe; stepsons, Marc (Teri) Van Dee and family of Parnell and Mike Van Dee of Williamsburg; and many loving cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald Lee was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lyle and Hazel Edaburn Brewer. He was a 1961 graduate of Jefferson High School. Following, he married Colene Kay Van Dee in Cedar Rapids. Ron worked for Penick and Ford in the instrumentation department for over 17 years and then for Iowa Precision in the utility department more than 20 years, retiring in 1999.
Ron enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, playing tennis, fishing and camping when given the opportunity. But his greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family, grandchildren and dog, Mattie.
Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Hills Community Church or the American Heart Society.
