Stanard, Kathryn Marie 'Kathy'

Kathryn Marie “Kathy” Stanard, 63, of Prairieburg, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William Harnish. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Dawn Stanard, James Stanard and Renee Stanard, all of Cedar Rapids, Denise (Darren) Stanard of Marion, and Jennifer (Joshua) Brown of Pflugerville, Texas; siblings, Robert (Joan) of Cedar Rapids, Wayne (Diane) Kauten of Ralston, Neb., Paul (Theresa) Kauten of Sheldon, Raymond (Amy) Kauten of Postville, Jim (Rose) Kauten of Minnesota, Mary Shields of Manassas, Va., and Pat Haas of Cassville, Wis.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

Kathy was born March 10, 1949, in Westgate, Iowa, to Henry and Wilma Kauten. She married Robert “Bob” Stanard in Center Point on Oct. 2, 1971.   She was an office worker for several companies and did child care in her home. She was a volunteer at the election polls for several years. Kathy liked to needlepoint, garden, and spend time with her grandchildren.
