Weaver, James Chester
James Chester Weaver, 80, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, August 5, 2011. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 11, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home, with the Rev. Mike Shy officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with the Ozark V.F.W. Post No. 3246 Honor Guard providing military honors. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Rita (Robert) Petersdorf of Saint Charles, Ill., Debra Vaughan of Mountain Home, and Kathryn Wegener of Midway, Ark.; one son, Brice Malvin Page of Broomfield, Colo.; a brothers, Allen Neal Weaver of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Marion Kucera of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Mike Murphy, Zak Page, Chesarae Terry, Shaun Brown, James Brown and Felicia Vaughan; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Betty and Marlene; one brother, Vernon Crandall Weaver; and one sister, June Hansen.
He was born April 21, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Chester and Mildred Gamble Weaver. He married Betty Luthultz on Sept. 19, 1953, at Biloxi, Miss. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the U.S. Navy. Jim was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. James lived in Mountain Home, Ark., since 1973 moving from Cedar Rapids.
