LOUISE CLARK
Lisbon
Louise Marguerite Clark died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Hallmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon. Visitation for Louise will be Monday, Oct. 6, from 4 until 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, also at the church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lisbon.
Louise was born on the now Century farm to Frank and Mary (Slach) Dvorak on July 14, 1923. She attended the Cedar Valley country school and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1941. On May 2, 1946, she married Irvin Clark at St. John's Catholic Church in Lisbon, in which she was a lifelong member. They farmed in the Mount Vernon area until they moved to Lisbon in 1983.
Louise was a home-maker who valued her family, the farm and friendships. She loved to garden and harvest the fruits of her labor. To her family, her noodles, pickles and kolaches were the best! She enjoyed playing cards, attending her grand-children's school activities, and the special friendships in the Jolly Workers and Club Eleven Clubs. She was a 60+ member of the Mount Vernon American Legion Auxiliary. Louise and Irvin enjoyed many years attending Navy reunions held all over the country.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Irvin, of 68 years; children, Jim (Marge) Clark of Des Moines, Joyce (Steve) Fairley and Bob (Chris) Clark of Lisbon; eight grandchildren: Andrea (Phillip) Perez of Washing-ton, D.C., Adrienne (Jeff) Clough of Baltimore, Md., Mark Fairley and Michael Fairley, both of Urbandale, Kristin (Mark) Riddle of Midland, Mich., Angie (Kent) Rosenboom of Grimes, Kelly (Scott) Baxa of Solon and Jessica Clark of Birmingham, Mich.; and great-grandchildren, Alexander Perez and soon-to-be great-grandson, Julia and William Clough, Grace, Ella and Mary Riddle and Kaitlyn, Olivia and Jillian Rosenboom.
Also surviving are in-laws, Dorothy Mullaley, Margaret Reilly, Bonnie Keith and Howard Clark; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Clara Pospisil.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Hubert.
Louise was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
The Clark family extends their deepest appreciation to those who cared for Louise: the staff of Hallmark Care Center and Hospice of Mercy.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Louise's honor has been established.
