June R. Auman, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Burial: Shueyville Cemetery, Shueyville, conducted by June's nephew, T.J. Kauffman.
June was born June 19, 1928, to Wayne and Lucille (Landis) Kauffman in Colesburg, Iowa. She graduated from Manchester High School. She married Robert Auman on Sept. 30, 1949, in Cedar Rapids.
June is survived by her husband, Robert; son, David; daughters, Beverly (Larry) Thole and Karen Simmons; daughter-in-law, Christina Auman; grandsons, Aaron (Heather) Auman, Eric Simmons and Jeremy Auman; granddaughters, Angela (Adam) Haddy, Michelle Samora, Jessica Reilly, Amanda (Jacob) Melichar and Melinda (Stanley) Karminski; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Betty) Kauffman; sister, Faye (Jim) Sperfslage; and many nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gary and Mark; six brothers; and two sisters.
June was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, as well as a good game of cards. June loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
