Franck, Inez Marie

Inez Marie Franck, 84, died Saturday, July 25, in Independence. She had been in failing health for several months. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, at Troy Mills Christian Church, Troy Mills. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Reiff Funeral Home, Independence.

Inez was born April 16, 1925, in Solon to Arthur and Anna Sweeting, and grew up on the family farm near Riverside, where she attended school. After becoming a beautician in Cedar Rapids, she married Burley Franck Jan. 6, 1947, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church there. The couple moved to a farm near Troy Mills, where she lived for nearly 60 years. During this time, she raised her family, ran her own beauty shop and was highly involved in church and community activities.

Her family includes three children, Gregary (Jan) Franck, Ankeny; Glenda (Nick) Hellenthal, Independence; and Julie (Steven) Peyton, Center Point; six grandchildren, G. Wade and Travis Franck, Brent (Jennifer) and Ryan (Leia) Hellenthal, and Jody (Matt) Michael and Joel (Kerry) Peyton; six great-grandchildren; Delphina, Arabella, Keira, Jaeden, Reilly and Abigail; and brother, Byron (Dorothy) Sweeting, Riverside.
