GARY EDWARD "BO" STODOLA Newhall Gary Edward "Bo" Stodola, 73, died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at his home following a sudden illness. There will be no public funeral service. The family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to St. John Lutheran Church, 310 Second St. E, Newhall, IA 52315. Gary was born on May 20, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Joseph Earnest and Alice Francis (Rehak) Stodola. Gary served his country in the United States Air Force. On Aug. 2, 1969, he was united in marriage to Geraldine "Gerry" Fehlberg in Lansing, Ill. Gary worked at Rapids Inc. and Johnson Gas and Appliance in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He loved to play golf and socialize and was a member of the Marengo Golf Course. He is survived by his sons, Brian (Amy) Stodola of Marion and Kurt (Christie) Stodola of Cedar Rapids; Brian's daughter, Grace, and Kurt's daughter, Rylan; and his sister, Nancie Hruby of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gerry in 2014; his sister, Virginia Nelson; and his brother, Dennis Stodola. Online condolences may be left at www.phillipsfuneralhomes.com.
