Hayhurst’s late goal helps RoughRiders end Dubuque’s 10-game win streak

DUBUQUE - Jacob Hayhurst scored a power-play goal with 5:33 left to lift the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders past Dubuque, 4-3, Friday night, ending the Fighting Saints' 10-game win streak.
Dubuque took a 3-1 lead midway into the second period, but Ross Colton and Cal Burke scored 1:10 apart to tie things headed to the final 20 minutes. Hayhurst's winner came on assists from Matt Filipe and Luke Morgan.
The RoughRiders killed off a late Dubuque power play to end it. Ben Blacker made 34 stops for the goaltending victory.
Colton had a power-play goal 5:37 into the first to give Cedar Rapids a 1-0 lead. He has a team-leading 16 markers.
The win in regulation pulled the Riders within a point of Dubuque for first place in the United States Hockey League's Eastern Conference. C.R. is 19-8-3, 41 standings points to Dubuque's 21-9, 42 points.
