Paul Edward "2 Tall Paul" Kitzki, 57, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, after a four-year courageous battle with melanoma cancer. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Living Water United Methodist Church, 1155 Grand Ave., Marion, with a luncheon to follow services. Paul was born May 12, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Edward and Phyllis (Blythe) Kitzki. He graduated from Shaler High School in 1976, then continued his education at William Boyd Career School in Pittsburgh.
Paul started his airline career in February 1978 with Mississippi Valley Airlines in La Crosse, Wis., then transferred to Cedar Rapids in 1979. In 1988, the airline was sold to Air Wisconsin Airlines, where Paul retired from in September 2005. In January 2006, Paul then began his career with LimoLink, where he was still employed. On May 21, 1983, Paul married Wanda Baker at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids.
Paul was a member of the Cedar Rapids Emmaus Community. He was a PROUD member of Living Water United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees doing what he loved ... sharing the message of Jesus.
Paul LOVED sports! Steelers, Pirates and Penguins were his favorite teams. He loved playing and coaching softball, golfing and bowling until his cancer journey began. Paul loved family get-togethers, playing cards, croquet or just watching sports. Most importantly, Paul loved his family, which included his church and work family.
Paul is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wanda of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Miranda Kitzki and Tanya Kitzki (Cody Ray Simmers), both of Cedar Rapids; son, Cody Kitzki of Iowa City; his mother, Phyllis Kitzki, sister, Ruth Holmes (Tim Banker), and brother, Mark Kitzki (Paula Volkman), all of Pittsburgh; mother-in-law, Joyce Baker; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bob and Sharon Baker, Joe and Paula (Beltz) Baker, Tammy Orr, Jim and Deb Baker and Peggy Baker, all of Cedar Rapids, and Teresa and John Dolinski of Avondale, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews; the apple of Paul's eye, his granddaughter, Sidney Mae Kepler; along with soon-to-be grandson, Edward Sylas Kitzki.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Edward Kitzki in 2009; his father-in-law, Joe Baker Sr. in 2000; along with his grandparents; and a niece, Vickki Lynn Baker in 1986.
Paul will be missed by all those who knew him.
