Phillips, Robert Stanley
Robert Stanley Phillips, 90, of Huxley, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, of complications from heart and kidney disease. He and his beloved wife, Barbara were married for over 57 years and lived the majority of their lives near Cedar Rapids. Bob was a veteran of World War II and served on seven major invasions.
A celebration of his life and family visitation will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Ballard Creek Community, Huxley. Internment, with military honors, at 4 p.m. Friday at Fjeldberg Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan E. Phillips, Anne L. Quick and Sandra K. Gibson; two grandsons, Brian Quick and Trent Quick; granddaughter, Andre Stenhouse; and one great-grandson, Chad M. Quick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in his name.
