Sanders, Mildred 'Millie' Anna
Mildred “Millie” Anna Sanders, 78, of Vinton, died May 24, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. A celebration of the life of Millie will be held on the family farm, 5671 26th Ave. Dr., Vinton, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 13.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Sanders; children, Jade Chartier, Marta Bauer and Melody Johnson; brother, James Klocker; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Millie was born in Stratton, Colo., on Dec. 3, 1931. Millie was an x-ray technician for over 40 years, working several years at IMC in Cedar Rapids.
She was a devoted mother and wife, an excellent cook and an avid knitter. She was a devout member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton, the Harmony Club and the Vinton Palace Theatre Monday Matinee group.
