Patricia "Pat" Elaine
Robinson, 82, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospice in Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at First United Methodist Church in Central City conducted by Pastor Josh Hansen. Inurnment will be at Silver Creek Cemetery at a later date.
Pat is survived by her husband, David; her children, Mike (Sue) Robinson of Bartlett, Ill., Mark (Ann) Robinson of Cedar Rapids, Diane (Bill) Waller of La Crescent, Minn., Julie Robinson of Minneapolis and Jerry (Amy) Robinson of Decorah; grandchildren, Caitlin and Kelsey, Jake and Brody, Haley (Steven) Pitts and Heath (Alise)
Waller, Calvin and Katie, Megan and Jack and Sam, Charlie and Will; sister-in-law, Virginia (Ginny)
Millard; and brother-in-law, Allen Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Millard; and sister, Janet Morris.
Pat was born Dec. 2, 1933, in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, the daughter of
Calvin and Olive (Annis) Millard. On March 20, 1955, she married David Robinson in Cedar Rapids. In 1967, Pat and Dave opened a veterinary practice in Central City. She worked side-by-side with Doc for over 40 years, while raising five children. Pat's life revolved around her children and grandchildren and she never missed one of their events. In addition to her own family, she was "Mom" and "Grandma" to numerous others. She was active in a variety of church and community activities and organizations. Pat was an avid reader, loved vacations with her family and travels with her sister and best friend, Janet. She loved mornings with a special group of friends at the YMCA.
Pat's family is in great appreciation of all the support received from family and friends these past few weeks. The family extends a special thank you to the care providers and staff at St. Luke's Hospice during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Pat's honor.
