Robinson, William Chester 'Chet'

William Chester “Chet” Robinson, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 17, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Patty; stepchildren, Lindie Hunter, John (Dawn) Hunter Jr., Mary Jane (Tom) Breashears, Tiffany Hunter, Angelina Hunter, Kaylee Schanbacher and Krystal Hunter; 19 grandchildren; brother, Neil (Betty) Robinson; sister, Joan (Don) Speck; sister-in-law, Irene Robinson; brother-in-law, Harold Petersen; and several nieces and nephews.

Chet was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph, Raymond and Harold Robinson; and sister, Ruby Petersen.

Born Sept. 22, 1931, on a rural farm in Jerauld County S.D., Chet was the son of Herbert and Vira (Hansen) Robinson. Chet served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a security guard for Per Mar Security. On Sept. 6, 1995, he was united in marriage to Patty Moneypenny.

Chet's joys were farming and growing flowers and plants.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Chet's memory.
