Beverly Ann Geiger was born May 18, 1938, to Dale B. and Irene (Albert) Geiger in Brandon. She graduated from the Garrison High School as valedictorian in 1956. On June 17, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ronald L. “Ronnie” Fiebelkorn at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2010.
Bev was a homemaker and mother who possessed a variety of gifts and talents. She owned Punkin Patch Embroidery for several years. She could plan, prepare and decorate with flair family gatherings, reunions, anniversaries and birthday parties. She enjoyed sewing, photography and cooking. As a Vinton Women's Club member she used another of her talents - to make scrapbooks for the organization's Woman of the Year.
Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, she was a member of the Sweet Adelines when the chorus traveled to New York. Bev was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club and also a 50-year member of a bowling league. She was a volunteer at the Palace Theater in Vinton and quietly helped others in need.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, Rod (Lori) Fiebelkorn of Sherrill and Renee (Bob) Patava of Vinton; her grandchildren, Air Force SSgt. Jordan (Rina) Fiebelkorn, and their son, Conrad, of Charleston, S.C., Stephen Fiebelkorn of Iowa City, and twins, Robert and Ronald Patava and his special friend, Cassie of Vinton, and Brandon Patava of Vinton; her mother, Irene Geiger of Vinton; her sister, Bunny (Gene) Fritch of Atkins; her brother, Glen Dale Geiger of Vinton; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and “treasured friends.”
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale; her husband, Ronnie; and her great-grandson, Chintaro Fiebelkorn.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church and Friends of the Shelter in Vinton.
