ROGER BURDETTE ROBINSON

Roger Burdette Robinson, 90, of Straw-berry Point, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
He was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Masonville, Iowa, the son of Albert and Anna (Lehne) Robinson. He attended rural country school in the Masonville area. During World War II, Burdette served honorably in the U.S. Army.
On Jan. 6, 1951, Burdette was united in marriage to Donna Mae Clendenen at the United Methodist Church in Manchester. Three children were born to this union. Over the years they farmed together in the Manchester, Stanley and Lamont areas. In 1988, they moved to Strawberry Point. Burdette then worked at Esch Lumber in Strawberry Point from 1991 until his retirement in 1998.
Burdette enjoyed dancing and playing cards. He like watching sports on television and watching the traffic go by with his dog, Max. Most of all, Burdette enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his two sons, Jerry (Nancy) Robinson and Jeff (Lori) Robinson, both of Strawberry Point; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby Moser of Arlington and Mildred Johnson of Manchester.
Burdette was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna Mae Robinson; his daughter, Joyce Hora; a brother, Lloyd Robinson; a sister, Margaret Bradke; and a grandson.
