LOYAL DEAN ROBINSON

Loyal Dean Robinson, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, surrounded by his family at home. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be before the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery following the funeral service.
Loyal was born Dec. 26, 1928, to Earl and Florence (Gerard) Robinson in Victor, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Pope on Aug. 11, 1956, in Jackson, Miss.
He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and brother.
Loyal served in the Korean War and flew 38 combat missions. He received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Air Medal w/one oak leaf cluster.
Loyal loved his van trips to the Veterans Affairs and singing in the halls.
Loyal loved having his own business as a milk man in Iowa City.
Loyal will be greatly missed by all the people who knew him.
The family wants to extend great appreciation to the VA family in Iowa City, which took wonderful care of him.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanette; his children, Jim (Debbie) Robinson, Jerry (Jeri) Robinson, Debbie Sivertsen and Bob Robinson (Barb); 10 grandchildren, Stacey, John (Erin), Julie, Christopher (Kristin), Jennifer, Becky, Ashleigh, Abby, James and Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Maddy and Rylee; his brothers, Cloyd and Carol Robinson; sister, Marilyn; and favorite cat, Oreo.
Loyal is reunited in heaven now with his youngest son, Dwight David Robinson.
