James William Robinson, 59, of 1112 Harold Dr. SE, died on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, in Manor Care following a long illness. Memorial services:
3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Pastor Billy Joe Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Pattine Robinson; his daughters, Malinda Robinson of Cedar Rapids and Kristin Robinson of Marion; stepson, Rashad (Kierra) Pippen of Jacksonville, Ark.; his siblings, Tami Robinson, George (Linda) Robinson, both of Cedar Rapids, Frank (Rita) Robinson of Marion, Jerry Robinson, Kenny (Debbie) Robinson and Gary (Michelle) Robinson, all of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Pearl Ray Robinson; sister, Laura Jean Miller; and many aunts and uncles.
James was born July 1, 1958, in Atwood, Tenn. He married Pattine Pippen on Nov. 28, 1998, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. James was a transportation supervisor for the city of Cedar Rapids. He was a Mason, airplane pilot and Realtor. James enjoyed fishing, camping, horse riding and traveling. He wrote and published two books and cherished the time spent with his family, friends and especially the grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
