UI student reports dorm room invasion by unknown man

IOWA CITY - University of Iowa police say a student reported the appearance of an unknown male in their dorm room at an east side residence hall in the early morning of Nov. 8
According to a media release from the University of Iowa Police Department, the student reported awaking at about 2 a.m. and seeing a man in the room. The next day, a roommate noticed dresser doors had been opened in the dorm room and things had been moved but nothing had been taken, according to the release.
There was no sign of forced entry, according to the release. The unknown male subject was described as being tall and skinny.
UI Police are encouraging residence hall occupants to lock their doors 'at all times” and to call 911 immediately if any suspicious activity is encountered, according to the release.
