FRANCIS THEODORE MOLITOR

Francis Theodore Molitor, 95, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, officiated by Certified Celebrant Julie Freese. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Francis Molitor was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Waterville, Iowa, to Theodore and Clara (Brennan) Molitor. He graduated as valedictorian with the Class of 1938 in Waterville. Francis then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. He taught in rural schools in Northeast Iowa until he was drafted in November 1942. Francis was honorably discharged in 1946 from the U.S. Army where he was a sergeant. After this he went to work for Job Service of Iowa and retired after 39 years of service.
