Clarence W.
Countryman, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died at 9:27 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, Hannibal, Mo. The family will celebrate Clarence's life at a service to be held at a later date in Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Countryman was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Royalton, Minn., to Henry Charles and Armintia Hubbard Countryman. He married Betty Jane Eastling Oct. 4, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include five daughters, Janie Hymer (Harold) of Cedar Rapids, Deborah Brown (Russ) of Moore, Okla., Peggy Reeves (Roger) of Hannibal, Mo., Jackie Conner (John) of Cedar Rapids and Darlene Rhodes (Dale) of Hannibal; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Marie Countryman Naaktgeboren; five brothers; and three sisters.
Mr. Counrtyman worked for more than 39 years at Iowa Manufacturing as an inspector. During his retirement, he worked for General Mills. He enjoyed visiting his daughters and grandchildren and spending time with his dogs. Clarence was a talented man who could build or work on anything at his home or on his automobiles.
