QUENTIN WILLIAM WAGENFIELD

Quentin William Wagenfield, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Saturday,
Sept. 16, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital. Cremation committal will be held at a later date. Arrangements with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; sister, Ellen Church and her children, Margaret, David, Martha and Donald; and sister-in-law, Beverly Wright and her children, Ellen, Frank and Tom.
Quentin was born in St. Joseph, Mo., on Dec. 15, 1924, to Carrie (Vogel) and William Wagenfield. He attended school and junior college there. He was drafted into the Navy, and in 1948, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. He served aboard the Battleship Iowa, the Carrier Valley Forge, the LSMR 401 and the LSMR 403, and was involved in the Naval Atomic Energy Program.
He began work at Collins Radio in 1955, retiring in 1993. He married Carol Ellen Tilp on Aug. 12, 1961, at First United Methodist in Marion, Iowa. Quentin was a member of St. Paul's UMC in Cedar Rapids for 55 years. He served in the Oakhill Jackson area and helped with Habitat for Humanity. He was an active man who loved his wife, family, country, and God above all else.
