Live results: Waterloo East, C.R. Kennedy at C.R. Prairie

Dec. 2, 2010 5:18 pm
We're opening with one of the better duals (in my opinion) in the Metro this season. Prairie and Kennedy should be two of the top three teams in the Metro with Linn-Mar joining them.
Right now, C.R. Prairie is beating Waterloo East, 54-0, through 145 and four matches left. East will then wrestle Kennedy shortly after with Prairie vs. Kennedy ending the evening.
(If you refresh periodically, updates will filter in; I will update after each weight)
Prairie completes shutout, winning 75-0. Hawks receive six forfeits and won six others by fall.
Waterloo East and Kennedy up now. This dual will begin at heavyweight (285).
First two weights are Kennedy forfeiting to East at heavyweight and no match at 103. Sounds like the Kennedy 103-pounder didn't make weight.
Davon Caldwell gives East a 10-0 lead with a 16-8 win at 112. Kennedy received a forfeit at 119. East 10-6 after four weights.
J.D. Ruzicka gets a fall for Kennedy at 125, and a forfeit at 130 puts the Cougars up, 18-10.
Luke Kremer with a pin at 135. Kennedy up, 24-10. Ryan Rodriguez follows with another first-period pin, putting Cougars up, 30-1o.
Logan Kubovec and Shane Williams notch consecutive falls for Kennedy at 145 and 152, respectively. Kennedy up 42-10 with four weights to go. A forfeit at 160 gives Kennedy a 48-0 lead with three left.
I'm liking these new MVC double-duals. They are starting early and the way things are whipping through the final meet is going to start before the time varsity meets usually started.
Ryan Sheldon wins by a 9-3 decision at 171. Kennedy now up, 51-10. Cougars receive a forfeit at 189 and lead 57-10 with 215-pound match remaining.
Cameron Winters wins by fall in :26 to end the meet. Kennedy beats East, 57-16.
Varsity meet finished before the JV meet. Looking for the Prairie/Kennedy meet to start around 7:20-25 p.m.
We've started and Prairie is out to an early 12-0 lead after first two weight classes. Hawks get a forfeit at 103 and then Jayden Flege gets second fall of the night, pinning Chris Haman in 50 seconds.
Chris Walters builds a 16-6 lead, tallying seven takedowns before putting Taylor Moss on his back for a pin in 5:53. Prairie up, 18-0.
J.D. Ruzicka scores a takedown in the first and third for a 4-0 win, getting the Cougars on the board. Hawks lead 18-3 after 125.
Ben Feuerhelm scores a reversal with two seconds remaining for a 5-4 win. Kennedy pulls within 18-6, reaching the strength of its lineup.
Luke Kremer wins by major decision, beating Casey Becker, 12-3. Prairie leads, 18-10, going into 140.
Roy Siemering edges Ryan Rodriguez, 1-0, at 140. A ton of action for only one escape that came to Siemering in the second period. All three periods ended with scrambles, initiated by Rodriguez. Prairie leads, 21-10.
Zach Witte didn't waste time giving Prairie a 27-10 lead. Witte pinned Logan Kubovec, 1:23.
Cam Rathje beats Shane Williams, 9-6, at 152. A bit of a surprise to me. Rathje scored a big 5-point move to start. Williams rallied late with three takedowns in the third but it wasn't enough. Prairie leads, 30-10.
Peyton Wagner builds a big lead and gets 8-2 victory over Jordan Baskerville at 160. Hawks lead 33-10.
Ryan Sheldon posts a major decision win, dropping Alex Steenblock, 11-3 at 171. Cougars make it, 33-14.
They've split the dual to two mats now. Austin Gould of Prairie is wrestling Kennedy's Zach Deitrich at 189.
At 215, Prairie's Andrew Netolicky scored a fall in 1:01 over Jake Dunne, and heavyweight Dillon Brunscheen received a forfeit. Prairie leads, 45-14, awaiting the conclusion of the 189 match.
Gould and Deitrich tied 2-2 after second. Deitrich gives Gould automatic E1 for 3-2 lead to start third. Gould takes Deitrich down to his back and scores a pin in 4:35. Prairie wins, 51-14.
