Esbaum, Yvonne L.
Yvonne L. Esbaum, 76, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Mercy Iowa City. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden. Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Yvonne Lillian Esbaum was born Jan. 15, 1936, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Lillie (Dietrich) Wiedemeier. She graduated from Ladora High School and received a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She and Gaylon Esbaum were married Aug. 10, 1957, in Marengo. Yvonne was a teacher for the Lowden school system from 1956 to 1978. She was also employed at the Lowden Dental Office from 1979 to 1997. In her spare time Yvonne enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, cooking, the Hawkeyes, and her grandsons.
She is survived by her husband, Gaylon Esbaum of Lowden; children, Wendy (Keene) Hart of East Moline, Ill., and Darren Esbaum of Cedar Rapids; and grandchildren, Alex, Seth and Jacob Hart.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Flowers and memorials may be sent to Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden.
