Stagg, Clarence 'Bud'
Clarence “Bud” Stagg, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at First Church United, 1100 North Calhoun St., West Liberty. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty.
A memorial fund has been established.

Clarence Louis Stagg was born Jan. 2, 1926, near Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Louis H. and Nellie Parsons Stagg. He was a 1944 graduate of West Liberty High School. On Dec. 9, 1946, he was united in marriage to Donna Yedlik in Iowa City. She died in 2003. He later married Dora Lee Petersen on May 2, 2009. She died in 2012.
He had farmed in the West Liberty area for many years. He also had delivered L.P. Gas, worked in farm equipment sales and Pioneer Seed Sales.
Clarence was a member of First Church United, Lions Club, Moose Lodge, Elks and West Liberty Country Club. He enjoyed painting, metal detecting, coin collecting, antique cars, dancing and traveling. He and Donna spent many winters in Florida.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his four children, Letha (Vince) Ottaway of West Liberty, Russell (Bonnie) Stagg of West Liberty, Annette (Jeff) Henderson of West Liberty and Marilee (Tony) Quinlan of Coralville; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; as well as three sisters, Betty Coglan of Iowa City, Marj (Filmore) Melick of West Liberty and Martie (Ray) Morrison of Peoria, Ariz.; and four brothers, Harold Stagg of Iowa City, Harley (Barb) Stagg of Iowa City, Richard (Marilyn) Stagg of Oro Valley, Ariz., and James (Donna) Stagg of West Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; wife, Dora Lee; two daughters, Janet and Audrey Poock; brother, Everett; sister-in-law, Edith Stagg; and brother-in-law, Dean Coglan.
