Aleen Wethington Driscoll, 94, of Mechanicsville, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton, surrounded by her family. Funeral services cele-brating Aleen's life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mechanicsville. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.
A memorial has been established in Aleen's honor.

Aleen was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Casey County, Clementsville, Ky., daughter of Harry and Ollie Clements Wethington. She moved to Iowa in 1921, with her parents and two older sisters, Bessie and Lucile, so her dad could help his brother farm. In Iowa, two sons joined the family, Russell and Bob.
Aleen remained in Cedar County the rest of her life. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1938 and married Donald A. Driscoll on Feb. 11, 1942. Together they had six children: John, Joan, Harry, Donna, Kevin and Dan. She was a homemaker and mother for many years. Later, she worked at The Pioneer Press for 15 years, retiring in 1976.
Aleen was a member of St. Mary's Guild, bridge clubs, Pinochle clubs and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mechanicsville.
Aleen's family was very important to her and she had great love for them all.
Aleen is survived by her children, Harry (Marcia) Driscoll of Mechanicsville, Donna (Wayne) Robinson of Mechanicsville, Kevin (Marcia) Driscoll of Mount Vernon and Dan (Diana) Driscoll of Mechanicsville; son-in-law, Les Svatosch of Lisbon; daughter-in-law, Joan Driscoll of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Bob Wethington; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Wethington and Marge Wethington; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Aleen was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ollie Wethington; husband, Donald; son, John Driscoll; daughter, Joan Svatosch; sisters, Lucile and Bessie; and brother, Russell.
