Serbousek, F. Leonard
F. Leonard Serbousek, 93, of Center Junction, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Burial will be in North Madison Pioneer Cemetery, Center Junction, with military honors.
Leonard Serbousek was born March 24, 1918, in Center Junction, Iowa, the son of Alan and Della (Mead) Serbousek. He married June Huffman on March 29, 1939, in Waukon. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Leonard owned and operated the DX Station in Center Junction for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Wyoming American Legion Post 259.
Leonard was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his country and his family and friends.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 73 years, June Serbousek of Center Junction; one son, Alan (Marlene) Serbousek of Anamosa; and two grandsons, Todd Serbousek and Craig (Val) Serbousek, all of Seattle, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ken, Dee and Don; and sisters, Ruth and Jane.
Memorials may be given to the Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa.
