Rich, Duane Arthur
Duane Arthur Rich, 72, passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at the Pioneer Skilled Nursing Home in Marceline, Mo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the Ethel Christian Church in Ethel, Mo. Burial at the Bell Cemetery, Ethel.
He was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Arthur O. Rich and Twila (Myers) Rich. He was united in marriage to Sandra A. Conklin on June 9, 1957.
Duane joined the Navy in October 1955 and served 20 years. After retirement in 1975, he and Sandra moved to Bucklin, Mo., to pursue farming and raising cattle.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; a son, Steven of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Denise (Larry) Danley of Shelby, N.C.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by three sisters, Bonnie Christian of Pharr, Texas, Arlis (Pat) Sedlacek of Cedar Rapids, and Penny (Jim) Freese of Hiawatha.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Katherine.
