John L. Clausen, 65, of Hills, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills, with Father Michael Spiekermeier officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church.
A memorial fund has been established for St. Stanislaus Cemetery and Pioneer Park in Lone Tree.
John Lyle Clausen was born May 4, 1950, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Donald and Shirley (Fesler) Clausen. He graduated from Iowa City High in 1968 and worked as a farmer and mechanic.
John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He could fix anything and will be missed by many.
John was proud of his Danish heritage and his role as an uncle. He enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes and Case tractors.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Clausen of Iowa City; siblings, Lucille (Mike) Parker of Hills, Mary Clausen of Iowa City, Jean (Mike) Donohue of Iowa City, Bill Clausen (Moe Rogers) of Hills and Eileen (Mike) Stumpf of Hills; 11 nieces and nephews; and eight great- nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding John in death was his father.
