Following Herbert's death in 1985, Ms. Alley pursued her love of travel, eventually visiting most of the continental United States and Hawaii, plus exotic locales in Europe and Asia. She was also a passionate bridge player and spent many joyous hours with fellow club members and friends.
Ms. Alley is survived by her sisters, Marlene Alltop, Bradford, Ill., and Karen (Joy) Anthony, Le Claire, Iowa; sons, Michael (Nancy) Alley, Springfield, Mo., and James Alley, Fontana, Wis.; daughters, Denise (Eric) Brownfield, Cedar Rapids, and Cheryl (Peter) Sayers, Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Douglas Sayers, Denver, Colo., and Alex, Nicholas and Matthew Brownfield, Cedar Rapids; granddaughters, Kira (Clint) Restemayer, Ozark, Mo., Brianne (Derik) Redburn, Ozark, Mo., and Stephanie (Matthew) Harper, Cedar Rapids; and three great-grandchildren.
