Glotfelty, Joanne Carol
Joanne Carol Glotfelty, 73, of Victor, peacefully stepped into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at New Covenant United Methodist Church in Victor. Interment will be at Brethren Cemetery near Libertyville, Iowa. Friends may call at Smith Funeral Home in Victor beginning at noon Sunday, with the family present from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Joanne is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Vern H. Glotfelty; children, Deb (Dan) Davis of Ringwood, Okla., the late Mark (Bev) Glotfelty of Marengo, Tammy (Dennis) Hull of Cedar Rapids, Tim (Janet) Glotfelty of Victor, Mike (Teresa) Glotfelty of Huxley, Nathan (Marla) Glotfelty of Kellogg, Chris (Damon) Daniels of Huntsville, Ala., and Jill (Dan) Dreyer of Muscatine; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty (Harry) Durflinger of Greentop, Mo., and Patti (Bob) Whitham of Madrid; two brothers, Wyman (Nancy) Webb of Ottumwa and James (Evelyn) Webb of Andover, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Glotfelty) Nelson of Venice, Fla., and Lavina (Eckmann) Glotfelty of Davenport; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents and son, Mark D. Glotfelty, in 2001.
