Karamitros, Patrick Michael
Patrick Michael Karamitros, 16, of 4272 Fox Meadow Dr. SE, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at New Covenant Bible Church, 1800 46th St. NE, Cedar Rapids. Pastor Mark Eades will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Surviving to honor his memory are his parents, Michael and Tamara Karamitros; his sister, Katie; his two brothers, Alex and Chris; his grandmother, Bette Nelson of South Haven, Mich.; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
Patrick was born March 21, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, to Michael and Tamara (Nelson) Karamitros. He was a junior at Washington High School, where he participated on the swim team, baseball team, tennis team, golf team, marching band, and jazz band. He was a member of New Covenant Bible Church. At the church he was a member of the Senior High Worship Team. He was to participate on a mission trip to Mexico that will now be dedicated to him. He was a life guard at Bever Pool where he saved two lives. He had just started working at the Mount Vernon Road Hy-Vee. He also mowed lawns, did snow removal, and pet care in his neighborhood.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
