Henrietta Marie Olson, 86, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Living Center East, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Per Henrietta's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Henrietta "Etta" was born April 11, 1931, in St. Augusta, Minn., the daughter of Christopher and Wilhemina (Kieke) Schmit. Etta was an avid quilter and loved to dance. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Marion and the St. Joseph's Church Quilter's Club. Etta's greatest love of all was her family and her time spent with them.
Etta is survived by her children, Jeanie (Jerry) Geers of Marion, Danny (Lisa) Lichte of South Haven, Minn., Gib Lichte of St. Cloud, Minn., and Tammy (Chuck) Frey of Little Falls, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruby Schmit of Foley, Minn., Lilly (Duane) LaVigne of Sartell, Minn., Theresa Kolb of Paynesville, Minn., Mary (Fred) Goenner of Brooklyn Center, Minn., Delphine Goenner of Clear Lake, Minn., Dennis (Judy) Schmit and Leonard Schmit, both of Sauk Rapids, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Albert Lichte; brother, Donnie Schmit; and sister, Laura Moeller.
