Olson, Audrey
Audrey Olson, 91, of Vinton, died peacefully Tuesday, May 2, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date.
Survivors include her children, David Olson, Annette Olson and Diane Welsh, grandchildren, Tracy Corby, Luke Welsh, Kristina Levis and Jason Handsaker; and great-grandchildren, Luke, Bryan, David, Natasha, Makenzie and Ashton.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Levin.
Audrey was the youngest of nine children born to Louis and Anna Wiese of Keystone, Iowa. The loves of her life were her children, grandchildren and all of her family members. She grew up on a farm and lived most of her life in the country. She was passionate about volunteering her time whether it was for the church, farming organizations or helping others in need. She loved reading and was the children's librarian in Vinton for a time. Audrey was known for her garden and her chickens. She is loved and will be missed.
Memorial can be made to children's literacy.
Thank you to all of those who provided loving care at the Lutheran Home in Vinton.
