Kinkead, Emma Mary
Emma Mary Kinkead, 89, of Marion, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Ave. NW, with the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer presiding. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Private family inurnment will be at a later date at Shiloh Cemetery.
Emma was born Aug. 22, 1920, in Dubuque, the daughter of James and Emma (Weisenberger) Garvey. She married Peter Kinkead on Sept. 13, 1947, in Louisville, Ky.
Emma is survived by her sons, Jim (Pat) Olsen of Colorado and Donald (Nancy) Olson of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Angie Etscheidt of Cedar Rapids, Cindy (Chad) Noska of Walker and Jessica (Andrew) Adams of South Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jonathan, Jordan, Cole and Brady; half brother, Earl (Betty) Graves of Dubuque; and her daughter-in-law, Betty Olson of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pete, in 1968; and her brother, James Garvey.
