Father, son charged with stealing guns from Marengo store

Robert Fritz, 51, of Marengo, and his son, Lawrence Fritz, 19, of 1444 Bever Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, have been charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony, in connection with the April 13 theft of “numerous guns” from a Marengo business.
They are accused of entering Carole's Variety store at 4 a.m. and taking the guns, according to court records.
Lawrence Fritz was also charged with possession of marijuana.
The Fritzes were released from custody, with travel restrictions, pending their trials.
