DeBow, Ronald 'Ron' P.
Ronald “Ron” P. DeBow, 69, of Enfield, Conn., formerly of Cedar Rapids, entered into eternal rest on July 17, 2012 at the West Haven VA Hospital.
He is survived by his three children, Randy DeBow and Robert DeBow, both of Marion, and Mary (Chris) Scutt of Enfield, Conn.; his three grandchildren, Spencer Scutt, Samuel Scutt and Sawyer Scutt all of Enfield; his brothers, Larry DeBow of Atkins, Gary DeBow and Bruce DeBow, both of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Albert DeBow; and mother, Margaret (Schaffner) DeBow.
He was born in Dell Rapids, S.D., on Nov. 27, 1942. He graduated from Marion High School and served in the USMC as an aircraft mechanic. He was a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, and worked at Farmstead for many years. He spent his free time camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. Every morning you would find him drinking a cup of coffee, reading the newspaper and working on the crossword puzzle. He recently moved to Enfield to live with his daughter while he battled cancer.
A funeral service and burial will be held in Cedar Rapids at a later date.
